Customers Are Just People Looking for Direction
Today I learned that customers are just looking for direction. Meaning that if you don't provide any guidelines, they will interact with your company in the way they are most comfortable. Which may or may not be the best way for you. And most likely won't be scalable.
No one knows exactly how your business runs, what your processes/limitations/prices/costs are unless you tell them. So if your customer contact is not going as smoothly as you wish, you better figure it out on your end.
In my experience, humor goes a long way to building a relationship and being more relatable.
